OUR PATIENT CONCERNS

What is Hair Problems?

Hair problems refer to a wide range of issues affecting the scalp and hair, including hair loss, thinning, dryness, dandruff, breakage, and scalp conditions. These concerns can impact both appearance and self-confidence, and may be caused by genetics, hormonal changes, poor hair care habits, or underlying health conditions.

What Causes Hair Problems?

Hair Removal may be caused by:

  • Genetics: Hereditary conditions like male or female pattern baldness are among the most common causes of hair loss.
  • Hormonal Imbalances: Changes in hormones due to pregnancy, menopause, thyroid disorders, or conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can lead to hair thinning or loss.
  • Nutritional Deficiencies: A lack of essential nutrients such as iron, zinc, protein, and vitamins (especially B vitamins and vitamin D) can weaken hair and slow growth.
  • Stress: Physical or emotional stress can trigger hair shedding conditions such as telogen effluvium.
  • Medical Conditions: Autoimmune diseases (e.g., alopecia areata), scalp infections, and chronic illnesses may result in hair loss or scalp issues.
